Frequently Asked Questions
What are the construction methods for Douglas Nance furniture?
Douglas Nance teak furniture is built to be strong and long lasting. Mortise and tenon joint construction ensures that the furniture will be extremely sturdy and strong. The tenon is placed into the mortise, which is a cavity cut into one of the timbers, joining the two pieces of wood securely. Additionally, glues and screws are used to permanently secure parts during manufacturing.

Does the wood need to be finished?
Douglas Nance teak furniture is truly maintenance free. Teak will age naturally to a classic silver patina and the oils deep in the wood will protect it from the elements. If you care to preserve the color though, we suggest an annual application of Teak Protector.
